Happy Valentine's Day!

Made these little treats for my sweets:

Homemade Devil's Food cupcakes, one with Coconut-Vanilla Bean butter cream and one with chocolate spiced rum ganache!


Brownie heart sandwiches with coconut-vanilla bean buttercream filling


VERY yummy and festive.   This is the first time I've tried devil's food cake at home and it was a surprisingly successul affair!  I followed Martha's lead and heated my butter and sugar on the stove then whisked it on medium-low until it cooled before adding my eggs, vanilla, dutch process cocoa and flour mixture. They were moist and chocolatey and gooey and DELICIOUS!
